Love my Silk Almond Milk

Hey Friends!! Monday slipped away from me. We were traveling back from CrossFit Mayhem after a weekend doing our CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course and I was still on a high from the whole weekend. I’ll write up a whole recap this week, once I have time to process it all!

Today I want to talk to you about Silk! I have been using Almond milk for awhile now. I don’t even really remember where I heard about it, probably another blog. ha. The first thing that really attracted me to almond milk was that an 8 ounce serving of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk has just 30 Calories! When making lattes, cereal, oatmeal, or protein shake all the extra calories in regular milk can add up. 30 calories of Silk Almond milk still gives you that creamy texture without all the extra calories.

A few other benefits from the Silk Website:

• 30 calories per serving
• Absolutely no added sugar
• 50% more calcium than dairy milk2
• Excellent source of vitamin E
• Absolutely no cholesterol or saturated fat
• Free of dairy, soy, lactose, gluten, casein, egg and MSG
• Verified by the Non-GMO Project’s product verification program
• No artificial colors, flavors or funny business

I’ve used almond milk in my chai lattes, banana soft serve, smoothies, and (my favorite!) in my protein shakes.

I love it in my post WOD protein shakes because it is creamier than water but without the extra 120 calories of milk.

There is so much you can do with Silk PureAlmond. The only limit is your imagination!

But guess what? You don’t have to come up with recipes on your own… Silk has teamed up with some of my favorite bloggers to bring you a collection of 30 amazing recipes using Silk Products. Check them out over on the Silk Facebook Page! Check out the recipes and come back telling me which one you’d like to try the most and I’ll try to recreate it here on the blog!

Have you tried Almond Milk?

Love almond milk! We put it in smoothies all the time! Can’t say it competes with regular milk for drinking or for things like milk and cereal, but it has a lot of great uses.

I really like both almond milk and soy milk. We’ve substituted soy milk in our cereal because Justin might be allergic to almonds. You can also make ice cream out of almond milk! I enjoy the substitutions, because they taste good and I feel better. :)

I’ve been using Blue Diamond, unsweetened plain almond milk and love that in my post-WO shakes; never tried Silk though! May have to!
