BzzAgent Review: Filippo Berio Olive Oil

I’ve technically been a BzzAgent for a few years, only doing a few surveys here and there, but I’ve been trying to be more active recently and got invited to be a part of a campaign! I was given a sample of Filippo Extra Virgin Olive Oil and asked to write a review for it. All opinions are 100% my own.

When my bottle of Filippo Berio Olive Oil arrived I knew I had to make an Italian Dish. I mean, what says Italian more than some top of the line Olive Oil? I love that it’s naturally free of cholesterol, trans fat, salt, sugar, and  most of all … gluten! I’ve been avoiding gluten for a few weeks now and I really do feel a difference! I decided I would make some Chicken Parm.

Marinating with Olive Oil

First I used the Filippo Berio EVOO to marinate the chicken with some of our favorite spices: Garlic Salt, Red Pepper, Paprika, Sea Salt and Fresh Ground Black Pepper. After I let it marinate for awhile I used some Gluten Free Flour mixed with Parmesan Cheese and some Italian Seasoning.

I heated up a pan with so of the Olive Oil and then seared the outside of the chicken.

I then put the chicken in the oven to cook through. Towards the end of cooking I added some Marinara sauce and Mozzerella Cheese and let that melt together. While that was cooking I boiled some gluten free pasta then tossed it with some minced garlic, parmesan cheese and Filippo Berio Olive Oil. I put the pasta on the plate and topped it with the cooked chicken breast.

It was a great meal! I loved the lightness of the olive oil paired with the boldness of it’s flavor. Not to mention the health benefits! It helps protect against heart disease, aids in digestion, and has been known to promote healthy aging (Source)
